Currently research in the section of Urology is expanding with the addition of new faculty members in areas such as urologic oncology, renal transplant, minimally invasive surgery, andrology and infertility. There is considerable expertise in urologic oncological research that has been demonstrated in past years and continues strongly with local projects, collaborative national projects, and a strong clinical trial portfolio in all areas of genito-urinary oncology. All residents in urology are currently involved in research efforts and are expected to complete projects during their resident years. An annual section of Urology research day has been very successful in past and continues to be so with resultant publications of resident research projects. Medical students with interest are also actively engaged in urologic research during research electives with the research director and these have resulted in publications that aid in medical student application to residency programs.
